About Manas National Park
Manas National Park or Manas Wildlife Sanctuary located in Assam is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a Project Tiger Reserve, An Elephant Reserve as well as Biosphere Reserve. Unique in all respects, this legendary park is an abode of numerous species of fauna like Asiatic Elephant, Tiger, Indian One Horned Rhinoceros, Leopards, Barking Deers, Hoolock Gibbons and many more.
Situated 180 kilometer away from Guwahati, the area of Manas National Park is near Manas River which is one of the major tributaries of River Brahmaputra.
Climatic Conditions
Manas National Park and its outskirts receives semi-tropical climate with summer hot and mild winters. The park enjoys heavy rainfall during the monsoon season that makes the park inaccessible. The months of May and June are the hottest months when the temperature raises up to 37 degree Celsius and high humidity.
Best Time To Visit Manas National Park
Although Manas National Park is open round the year but the best time to visit the park is between the months of February to October. The climate during this period is pleasant and the chance of catching the fauna in the park is highest. It is not advisable to visit the park during monsoon season due to heavy rain.

- By Rail: Barpeta is the nearest railhead, located at a distance of 63 kilometers away from the park.
