Kaziranga National Park Submerged in Flood, Photo of Royal Bengal Tiger Resting on Bed Making Rounds Over Social Media
Kaziranga National Park, News Update: Assam is currently experiencing flood outbreaks. The flood situation remains very serious. Farmers are upset as their crops have sunk in flood water. Many people have been killed and lakhs of people have been displaced. In the meanwhile, surprising picture have come from a house located in Harmit area of Kaziranga National Park. When Kaziranga National Park is flooded, a tiger found resting on the bed of the house comfortably. The photo of this tiger is viral and making rounds over twitter. Wildlife Trust of India has tweeted the photo and wrote – “This is a Dhaba across the house where the #tiger is sheltered. It has to traverse this stretch of the road and dhaba to reach the forest you see behind. Highways and settlements block the animals.” In pictures shared on Twitter, it can be seen that a tiger is lying on the bed. In order to avoid flood waters, this tiger took refuge in a house located near National Highway-37.
After seeing the tiger inside home, family members reported to the forest department immediately. Wildlife Trust of India is providing every update of the situation. Wildlife Trust of India said that they would complete the task of safe returning to the tiger forest.
It is only because almost 95 per cent of Kaziranga National Park in Assam is submerged in water and the animals living in the park are being forced come to human-populated areas. Rescue team of Kaziranga National Park is engaged and putting their entire effort to save the animals. During monsoon, animals usually take shelter at high places located inside the park. There are 33 new and 111 old high places (Highland) inside the park. During the rains, animals go to the hills of Angolong on the other side of Asiatic highway -1.
