The very first sight of the bungalow will give a jaw-dropping thrill. The Thengal Manor is located 15 km from Jorhat town, in a traditional Assamese village Jalukonibari. The elegant property was built by Rai Bahadur Siva Prasad Barooah in 1929 and the mansion was meant for the families of Shiva Prasad and Sashi Prasad Barooah. However, the massive earthquake in Assam in 1950 led to severe damage in the bungalow and the families shifted to Kolkata. Thengal Manor was abandoned for 13 years, till the renovation was initiated by Mr. H P Barooah in 1965.

Once you enter the building, the architectural fineness of the interior will blow your mind.
