Know Safari Zones in Kaziranga National park
The Kaziranga National Park is split into the 4 tourism zones which are the Central Zone or Kaziranga Zone, Western Zone or Bagori Zone, Eastern Zone or Agaratoli Zone and the Burapahar Zone. A diverse range of wild animals, exotic birds, huge grasslands, dense forests and spectacular landscapes can be found in all four zones of the park. No matter what zone you’re in, a forest safari will allow you to explore the flora extensively and witness the wildlife of the forest. There are no good or bad zones in the Kaziranga forest as each zone is part of the same forest.

Central Range- Kohora
The central zone is the most visited safari zone in Kaziranga National Park. Kohora is an ideal safari zone where Jeep and Elephant safari is the best medium to explore the Kaziranga forest.
Western Range – Bagori
The western range Bagori is one of the best safari zones in Kaziranga National Park. Jeep safaris in the Bagori zone allow visitors to see Rhinos, elephants, swamp deer, wild buffalos and a great variety of birds.
Far Western Range – Burapahar
A designated route can also be used to go trekking in the forest, which is a superb way to see the dense forest closely. This place is situated at Ghorakati on National Highway.
Eastern Range – Agaratoli
At the start of the day, 20 vehicles are permitted to travel into Agaratoli Range, and at the end of the day, the same number is permitted. You can experience only the jeep safari here in this safari zone.
How to Reach Kaziranga
Being at Kaziranga National Park is very easy as its connectivity is good from all major cities.
By Air
The nearest airport is Jorhat Airport in Assam and Dimapur in Nagaland. The park is 76 km away from the airport. You can access at your resort or hotel by cab & bus.
By Rail
Kaziranga National Park is close to a few railway stations. Among the popular railway stations near the national park are Heldem (30 km), Jorhat (90 km), and Guwahati (200 km). Most major cities are well connected through these stations. For transportation to the park, reserve a private vehicle at the station.
By Road
All major Indian cities can be easily in touch by road from Guwahati and Jorhat. There is a 6 hour drive from Guwahati and a 2 hour drive from Jorhat to Kaziranga National Park.
