The wildlife preserves are equipped to help animals run away from the continuing floods. During high floods in Assam’s national parks and wildlife sanctuaries such as Kaziranga, Manas, Orang and Pobitora National Park around 40 highlands are used as shelters for wild mammals.

The damage done by the flood has brought the new highlands specifically designed to endow with a diversity of flora and fauna that can offer food for wild animals such as elephants and other animals, as forest officials said. “The floods cannot damage animals and would not be the reason behind death as the creation of highlands is very fruitful,” he maintained.

In Kaziranga, many plans are being prepared to protect animals at their best and one of them is 25 boats being designed. This will minimize the havoc in Assamese for the flood. Kaziranga National Park contains 144 artificial highlands and 33 highlands are larger ones. The long road is also constructed up to 8.5 km long which is, by all means, a great medium to protect the animals during floods by giving secured shelter to them.

Though experts are also saying that building the highlands in Kaziranga National Park will not be a good option as it can damage the ecosystem in the long run. Those highlands can kill the microorganisms during construction that may result in jamming the rainwater from accessing to the soil.

Hard work is being done by the Assam government to keep their national parks in good condition. In Assam, there are beautiful national parks that are accompanied by some incredible exquisiteness, so it makes sense to invest your time here.
