After a Long Gap, Kaziranga National Park Set to Reopen for Tourists From October 21 With Post Covid-19 Guidelines

News update: Fighting bravely with Covid-19 pandemic and Assam floods, Kaziranga National Park is set to reopen for wildlife enthusiasts from October 21, a day ahead of Dasshera celebrations. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was closed and suspended all tourism activity for a long time due to Novel Corona Virus.

According to a report published in a local newspaper, state chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal will be present during the reopening ceremony of the park. ShivKumar National Park director Kaziranga informed Jeep safari ride will also start in Kohora and Bagori range.

The KNP director has earlier informed that New set of rules and regulations will be imposed in accordance with the centers directives. Following the Covid-19 norms, for the jeep safari and elephant rides, only about 50 per cent of the usual capacity will be allowed. Furthermore, the tourists including jeep drivers and guides and other forest employees shall also have to wear face mask and face shields.

COVID-19 Guidelines Must be Followed in Kaziranga While Travelling

  • Wearing a face mask /shield and maintaining physical distance at all times is mandatory.
  • Tourists visiting the park must ensure that they have sanitized their hands properly while entering and leaving the safari vehicle.
  • Spitting is completely prohibited inside the park.
  • You must wash your hands regularly after using any public facility according guidelines issued by the WHO.
